Dick Adams, sax
Dick has played with a wide range of music acts from pop to Motown. He also performs with the Bobby McCreary Big Band, Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, and other symphonies.

 

Steve Adams, keyboard
Steve is well-known in the area as a pianist and composer. He performs regularly with a number of local jazz bands in addition to Jazzin': The Transcendants, B.D. Bop, Backbay Express (a 12-piece big band), and in a number of trio configurations. In addition, he has performed with saxophonists David Liebman, Nelson Hill, Virginia Mayhew, and Andy Middleton, trombonist Jim Pugh, bassist Tony Marino (David Liebman band), and trumpeter George Rabbai.

When he's not behind the keyboard, Steve is a pharmacist and pharmacy manager for a home infusion service. In addition to degrees in Biology and Pharmacy, he has a Masters in Nutrition and is Board Certified in Nutrition Support Pharmacy. Steve is originally from the Philadelphia area, where he studied improvisation, arranging, and composition with Dennis Sandole.

Rob Byham, trumpet
Originally from Downingtown, PA, Byham took up trumpet at age eleven under the guidance of Paul Seifert and Bud Unangst. At Mansfield University Byham studied under Edward Sandor and Semore Rosenfeld of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra. Byham then spent three years on the road with The Spiral Staircase ("More Today Than Yesterday").

In 1981 Byham enrolled at Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), where he met his future wife, Cathy, a keyboard player and singer. He became interested in arranging and composition and began a second career as an arranger. In 1995, after a tour on a cruise ship, he left Boston and returned to Williamsport, PA, where he became a student and and advocate of Carmine Caruso and his system of teaching.

While living in Williamsport, Byham has worked with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra as a player and arranger. He also has written charts for the WSO--he was the orchestrator for the WSO's 2005 Pops Concert featuring Davy Jones of the Monkees. With the WSO and as a freelancer he has had the opportunity to back up internationally recognized artists such as The Four Tops, The Temptations, Frankie Valli, and others.

In addition to Jazzin', Rob is a member of Billtown Brass, a brass band, and Daddy-O and the Sax Maniacs, a twelve-piece horn band that plays a variety of musical styles from a variety of eras. As a member of Daddy-O, Byham has had the honor of playing at the White House for President and Mrs. Clinton. Byham has also written music for the regionally popular Gary Chrisman Show Live, a bi-annual affair at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport.

Byham and his wife Cathy (neé Muise, of Groveton, NH), have three children: Macullen, Annie, and Ben. They all live in a musical life in Linden, PA.

Bob Leidhecker, drums
Bob Leidhecker performs both as a concert and jazz percussionist throughout Pennsylvania and nationwide. Appearing with the world renowned Empire Brass Quintet from 1986 to 1994, he has performed with the Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Detroit, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Cincinnati, Rhode Island, and Rochester Symphony Orchestras. He has also performed at the South Street Seaport and Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Boston Esplanade, as well as with the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

Leidhecker was featured on a live television broadcast with the Orchestra de Simon Bolivar of Venezuela. He was also the featured percussionist on the Empire Brass 1992 and 1993 tours of Japan, as well as The Telarc CD "Empire Brass--On Broadway." He has worked with such conductors as Richard Haymon, Erich Kunzel, and Joseph Giunta.

Leidhecker is a founding member of the Symphonic Jazz Quartet, which performs jazz with symphony orchestras. The SJQ premiered with the Champaign-Urbana Symphony at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts in November of 1992 and has performed with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra and the Hershey Pops.

In addition to Jazzin', Leidhecker performs with Chris Vadala, Spiral Staircase, Guire Webb, Steve Rudolph, Voyage, Legends All Star Band, and Central PA Jazz All-Stars. He teaches Instrumental music and audio/video recording at Loyalsock Township School District, percussion studies at Lycoming College, and serves on the Jazz Faculty for the Mason/Dixon summer jazz camp at Gettysburg College. He Is a Yamaha performing artist and clinician and lives in Williamsport with his wife Aegina and their two sons Jeremy and Christopher.

Ken Wittman, bass
In addition to playing bass, Ken is a world-renowned instrument builder and inventor of musical accessories.
