WITTMAN-SPINS has developed a solution for
the many problems caused by heavy instruments and traditional straps.
It's called the SPINSTRAP system and it's designed for guitars,
basses, saxes and bassoons.
How does it work?
Direct attachment to the center of gravity
area of the instrument perfectly balances the instrument and
divides its weight evenly between the two ends of the strap.
Right shoulder position increases the mechanical advantage of
the neck muscles by counteracting the torque created by the
weight of the instrument. This enhances the respective lever-arms
ratio.
Breadth of the strap decreases pressure on the shoulder by increasing
contact area.

Why do I need a different strap?
Much has been written about back and
neck pain in general, especially in occupations prone to sustained
and distorted postures, as well as cumulative trauma. Musicians
as a group fall into this category.
A 1989 Study by Dr. F. J. Bejjani of New York University's Human
Performance Analysis Laboratory documents that more than 70%
of musicians suffer with back and shoulder problems due to their
instruments' Static and Dynamic Loading on the Human Musculoskeletal
System.
What proof is there that the Wittman SPINSTRAP makes a difference?
The Medical Research supports what players
have been telling us for years.
