WHAT THE PRESS IS SAYING

MUSICIANS WHO USE WITTMAN-SPINS PRODUCTS

World-reknowned bassist Ralphe Armstrong (left) plays a five-string WITTMAN AURORA BASS fitted with a WITTMAN ProTUNER and a SPINSTRAP. (more)

Guitarist Jason Carter says the WITTMAN MiniTUNER is "the only tuner that accurately tunes the Basses of the Harp Guitar."

Joe F (in a blog entry dated 6-9-06) raves about the WITTMAN MiniTUNER: "Installed the Wittman MiniTUNER today. Including a complete string change, it took about 20 mins start to finish. This thing is the bomb! It tucks nicely inside the soundhole. Easily viewed from the playing position, and very bright. Bright enough to be used outdoors. It seems to be extremely accurate also to. +- 1 cent. It's funny that they say that when the 9V battery starts to go low, it will light at half brightness and that means there is only about 60 hours of use left. At that rate, I will only be changing batteries once a decade or so. To my ear, mounting it and the battery inside the guitar made zero difference in the acoustic sound."

Kael (in a blog entry dated 6-15-09) raves about the WITTMAN ProTUNER: "I thought the onboard tuner was gimmicky at first, but now I love the thing. You can turn the volume knob down for silent tuning or hit a ringing note mid-song and check your tuning without fussing with pedals. These things are great."

Joe F (in a blog entry dated 3-27-08) raves about the WITTMAN MiniTUNER in his Taylor:
"I put a Wittman in all of my Taylors. This is an excellent little tuner for guitars that don't have one. Install takes about 10 minutes and is done with double sided tape for easy removal. I mount the 9V battery on the back brace adjacent to the neck joint for the stealth factor. Neither the wires or the battery are visible from out in front of the guitar. This is a great little tuner with red flat/sharp indicators and a green in tune indicator. Accurate to within +/- 1 cent and bright enough to be seen outside. To answer the question, to my ear, it makes ZERO difference in tone or volume other than you can always make sure you are in tune. The view from out front. All you can see is the tip of the toggle switch at about the 2 oclock position in the soundhole." [See photos of the tuner in Joe's guitar here.]

Someone even installed a WITTMAN TUNER in a lute-back hurdy gurdy!

Luthier Peter Taylor: "You may remember speaking with me shortly after you acquired the LockOn line. I thought I'd share some pics with you of my latest completed guitar, featuring one of your tuners. Enjoy.

Bob Farmer is a happy sax player! "The sax straps are great. Regular straps have always given a stiff neck. Being a guitar player also, I tried making a shoulder sax strap, but it didn't work that well. Your design is perfect."

Joel Ciaccio e-mailed: "Thanks for lending me that black WITTMAN fretted five-string bass with piezo bridge, EMG DC pickup, On-Board ProTUNER, and SPINSTRAP! I had a blast and got to use it for a gig. In fact, here is the YouTube clip of the army folks playing a medley of three Zappa tunes. It's not an army gig, but every musician, except the cellist, is in the army band. So I would like to put a SPINSTRAP on my work bass."

Paulo Betti (from Italy, in a blog entry dated 2-17-07) raves about Wittman-Spins customer service: "When I decided to make my first electric bass contact, I got in touch with the American luthier David King, and he gave me all the information I needed. We exchanged dozens of emails, to which he replied with great kindness and professionalism. King directed me to Wittman-Spins for a tuner to be mounted in the neck. After three years the tuner has had a problem. I contacted Wittman, and Ken sent me a free tuner plus another, with shipping costs charged to him. Wittman's main goal is customer satisfaction at all costs."
[This is paraphrased from the original blog entry.]

dagradiSaxophonist Tony Dagradi: "I've been using your SPINSTRAP with my tenor sax just about every day for the past fifteen years. It's a great product. I love it. It is strong, comfortable, and has lasted all this time. Many of my students are also using and enjoying your strap."

"I'm very thankful for the SPINSTRAP system. I highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you are experiencing shoulder pain. Since I am unable to use a conventional shoulder strap, I have installed SPINSTRAPS on all my electric guitars, and it has enabled me to play guitar standing up without experiencing pain." -- Lila Karash, The Chinchbugs and 13 Hertz, Minneapolis, MN
